Product Engineer · Istanbul · Remote (EU time zones)
Murat Doğan
Seventeen years deep in frontend engineering — now shipping products
end to end, from first sketch to the App Store.
I build with React and TypeScript, and I work AI-augmented every day
with agentic tools like Claude Code — knowing when to trust the
output, and when not to. Always close to the product, never just
closing tickets.
Open to consulting and full-time roles
About
For 17 years I've built interfaces for high-traffic products and
global brands — always sitting close to the product, not just the
codebase. That habit eventually became a role: today I work as a
product engineer, owning the whole loop from design decisions to
production releases.
At Flywheel Digital I spent ten months as interim Engineering
Manager, then made a deliberate choice to return to the
individual-contributor track. I like technical leadership best when
it's hands-on: architecture decisions written down as RFCs and ADRs,
developer experience treated as a product, and friction removed
systematically rather than heroically.
AI changed what one engineer can ship. I use Claude Code daily — not
to skip the thinking, but to widen what I can build alone.
BlindTimer, below, is what that looks like in practice.
Skills
Frontend — deep
React, TypeScript, JavaScript (ES6+), Next.js, Vite, design systems,
shared component libraries, performance optimization, accessibility
Full-stack — expanding
Node.js, REST & GraphQL APIs, PostgreSQL
AI-augmented development
Claude Code and agentic workflows as a daily practice — with
judgment about when to trust the output
Technical leadership
Architecture decisions (RFC/ADR), developer experience, mentoring,
cross-team alignment

2022 — Present
Technical leadership on a large-scale commerce analytics platform:
architecture decisions (RFCs/ADRs), shared component libraries,
developer experience. Served about ten months as interim Engineering
Manager before deliberately returning to the IC /
technical-leadership track.
Frontend Engineer → Architect
Products & agencies
2007 — 2022
Seventeen years of frontend engineering and architecture for
high-traffic products and global brands — from hand-rolled
JavaScript to modern React stacks.

Live on the App Store
BlindTimer
An iOS party game — designed, coded and shipped solo.
BlindTimer is live and earning: multiple game modes, six languages,
VoiceOver accessibility, and revenue through in-app purchases and
ads. I built it end to end with Claude Code as a daily pair —
product design, code, localization, store release. It's my proof
that "product engineer" isn't a title; it's a working method.
- 6 languages
- Multiple game modes
- VoiceOver accessibility
- IAP + ads revenue

Work with me
Alongside full-time roles, I take on consulting and freelance work.
Where I'm most useful:
-
Frontend architecture & design systems —
untangling large React/TypeScript codebases, building shared
component libraries that teams actually adopt.
-
AI-augmented development — helping teams fold
agentic tools into real engineering practice, without the quality
drop.
-
End-to-end product builds — from idea to shipped
product, with one accountable engineer.
